NHS Dental Charges

Please note, the new pricing structure has come into effect as of April 1st, 2015.

The charge for NHS dental care is dependant on what treatment, if any, needs to be done to keep your mouth healthy.

There will only be one charge per course of treatment, this is not dependant on how many visits it takes to the dentist or hygineist.

Band 1 - £18.80

A band 1 course of treatment covers your dental examination, in which care is taken to assess the health of your teeth and your gums,  We also screen for oral cancers and check the function of your jaw joint.  At this visit we will assess your oral hygiene and make suggestions based on your individual need.  Should it be necessary dental radiographs (also known as x-rays) may be taken.

A scale and polish, fluoride varnish and sealant coatings may also be included in this band, dependant on clinical need.

Band 2 - £51.30

A band 2 course of treatment will cover all required components from band 1, plus any further treatment.  These include periodontal therapy, fillings, root canal therapy and extractions.

Band 3 - £222.50

A band 3 course of treatment includes any necessary treatment from both bands one and two, plus crowns, bridges and dentures.

Denture repairs are free of charge on the NHS and can usually be done in 24 hours.
